Self-Deliverance & Inner Healing: Forgiving, Breaking Soul Ties, & Healing Wounds
Suggestion: Read these verses aloud daily. Write them on your heart. Speak life and forgiveness over your life, and the lives of others.
Forgiveness
God's forgiveness is a gift rather than an earned merit. It originates from deep divine love, though it required a great sacrifice (the life of Jesus) to reconcile humanity with God. When God forgives, He chooses to remember the sin no more. This means He removes the offense as a barrier between Himself and the individual, treating them as if the sin never occurred. God's forgiveness is the ultimate standard for human relationships. Followers are taught that they are to forgive others continuously and completely, modeling the vast grace they have received. It is the act of surrendering the mindset of victimization, letting go of control over others or situations, and surrendering the offender and the correlating wounds to God. By letting go of grievances, individuals are freed from the internal prison of bitterness and anger, allowing God to heal their emotional and spiritual wounds.
Matthew 6:15: 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
1 John 1:8-9: 8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Luke 17:3-4: 3 So watch yourselves. “If your brother or sister[a] sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them. 4 Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.”
Luke 7:45-48: 45 You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet. 46 You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet. 47 Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little.” 48 Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”
1 Corinthians 13:4-7: 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Healing of Wounds
Isaiah 53:5: 5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
Psalm 147:3: 3 He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.
Jeremiah 30:17: 17 But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,’ declares the Lord, ‘because you are called an outcast, Zion for whom no one cares.’
Jeremiah 30:16-18: 32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. 33 At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his household were baptized. 34 The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God—he and his whole household.
God’s Workmanship on the Hearts
He can harden the hearts involved in a series of events, prior to deliverance of His chosen people, for a chosen purpose.
Exodus 14:17: 17 I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them. And I will gain glory through Pharaoh and all his army, through his chariots and his horsemen.
He places us in God given roles of authority and spiritual gifting(s), in order for us to stand in the gap for others, through prayer, petition, and thanksgiving, to repent on behalf of and break off the sins of our family, workplace, organizations, and entire nations. We are an extension of Heaven on Earth.
Exodus 28:29: 29 Whenever Aaron enters the Holy Place, he will bear the names of the sons of Israel over his heart on the breastpiece of decision as a continuing memorial before the Lord.
God commands that you do not secretly harbor hatred, bitterness, or resentment. Internalized hatred is viewed as just as destructive as outward actions. Instead of letting anger fester, you are instructed to address the issue directly, honestly, and respectfully with the person who wronged you.
Leviticus 19:17: 17 “‘Do not hate a fellow Israelite in your heart. Rebuke your neighbor frankly so you will not share in their guilt.
Authority in Christ
In a spiritual context, binding means to forbid, restrict, or restrain the forces of darkness, while loosing means to permit, release, or unlock God’s blessings and purposes. Rooted in first-century biblical language, it signifies exercising spiritual authority to align earthly realities with heavenly truths.
Matthew 16:19: 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
Matthew 18:18: “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
Directions: This prayer is suggested as a tool to aid daily forgiveness and inner healing in your walk with the Lord. Insert the name of the person (or people) whom you need to forgive. It is best done with one person's name at a time. You can also surrender to Christ entities in which you have harbored negative feelings (ex: companies, locations/places, etc). Let the Holy Spirit and the Lord speak to you as you pray, to reveal what and who you need to forgive and let go.

Step 2: Repentance, Surrender, & Forgiveness of Self
As for me, I repent and apologize to You for harboring unforgiveness toward __________. I confess this as sin and ask for forgiveness for taking offense and allowing bitterness and hatred to enter into me and take root in my heart and mind. I apologize for slandering them, murdering them with my mouth, and fantasizing about hurting them. I repent for taking delight in their downfall. I ask forgiveness for wanting __________ to feel pain. I ask forgiveness for my actions and for any part I played in the situation. I ask forgiveness for causing any division and sowing discord. I lay down all revenge, retaliation, plots, schemes, and manipulation. I ask forgiveness for pride, envy, selfishness, and self-pity. I apologize for playing the victim and participating in victim mentality. I ask forgiveness for manipulating, shaming, abandoning, neglecting, and abusing people in the hopes of trying to protect myself. I surrender any right I think I have to being offended. I repent for all the wickedness in my heart, and I ask You to please cleanse me from all unrighteousness. I surrender the deep hurt to You. Please heal me from the inside out. Please heal the wounds that I have allowed to fester. I ask for forgiveness for partnering with the kingdom of darkness in any way. I rip out the root of bitterness and ungodly judgements I’ve held against __________. Please soften my heart toward __________ and help me to choose to treat __________ with respect and honor. Help me to love __________ with the love of Jesus. I ask forgiveness for allowing myself to be ensnared by the enemy. I rip out every fiery dart and arrow of the enemy and I cast out the spirit of evil memory recall that tries to keep me in unforgiveness. Through the power of Your Holy Spirit and through Your Word, please help me tear down the walls I’ve built to protect myself from hurt and rejection. Please forgive me for thinking I have the right to withhold love from anyone. Please help me not to withhold love from __________ but freely love as You have loved me. Restore this relationship if you want it to be restored. Please show me what I need to do to make things right between us. Anywhere I’ve been turned over to the tormenters because of unforgiveness, I ask You to please deliver me from the torment and restore to me the freedom that Jesus has purchased for me. I declare freedom from the prison of unforgiveness. I choose now to accept that the blood of Jesus has paid for what __________ did to me and for what I did to __________.
Step 3: Sever Ungodly Soul Ties & Soul Bonds
I ask You to sever all of these ungodly relationship bonds. In the name of Jesus, I cut every ungodly soul tie or soul bond that there may still be between __________ and myself. I ask in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ that You would remove, or disconnect from every part of ______ and I, everything from the realm of darkness that gained access to us through these ungodly relationship bonds. I also ask You to remove from me any part of their souls, spirits, or life forces that intermingled with mine, and return to them, cleansed by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, any part of their soul, spirit, or life force that intermingled with mine. I also ask You to remove from them any part of my souls, spirits, or life forces that intermingled with theirs, and return to me, cleansed by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, any part of my soul, spirit, or life force that intermingled with theirs. I ask for a fresh infilling of your Holy Spirit to fill these returned parts. When these exchanges are complete, I ask You to sever the spiritual conduits between us, close them, and seal them permanently with the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you, Ancient of Days.
Step 4: Inner Healing with Soul Wounds
Jesus, I ask you to come and to bind up all of my wounds. Your word says that you come and bind up the wounds of the brokenhearted. By your stripes, I am healed. I place all wounds related to _______ in a “Jesus room.” In the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, I bind every unclean spirit attached to these wound(s). I cut out all witchcraft and demonic entanglement with the sword of the Lord. I invite Jesus to come and minister to the wounds, and to heal them. It is my will that I surrender them to be with Christ Jesus, and I let them go to be with Jesus in heavenly places. Jesus, come and minister to all damaged parts of my mind, will, and emotions. Cleanse them with the fire of the Lord and the blood of Christ, for both _____ and I. By the authority of Jesus, I break all demonic assignment(s) operating around these wound(s), or that came from this ungodly relationship, and cast it out. You are ordered to leave my life, the lineage, the bloodline, and all future descendants right now, and you are forbidden to return. I loose angels on assignment to forcefully remove anything ungodly that remains.
Step 5: Invite the Holy Spirit into the Vacated Spaces
Holy Spirit, Breath of the Living God, I welcome You into this moment. Come afresh into my life and fill every empty space. I ask that you replace all ungodly things related to the experiences and interactions between ____ and I with a fresh infilling of your holy spirit. I ask for you to come and take up territory in my being, where this hurt once dwelt. I lift up my deepest wounds, my hidden griefs, and my silent pains to You. I do not hide them anymore; I invite You into the very center of my brokenness. Where there is hurt, pour out Your balm of healing. Where there is confusion, bring Your clarity. Where there is emptiness, let Your fresh infilling overflow with Your love, peace, and comfort. Saturate my soul, my body, and my spirit. Transform my scars into testimonies of Your grace. Mold me, heal me, and make me a vessel of Your light.
Step 6: A Prayer Against Demonic Retaliation and Backlash
I thank You for Your presence, Your power, and the victory You have secured for me today. I come before Your throne and plead the precious, life-giving Blood of Jesus over my mind, my body, my soul, my lineage/bloodline/descendants, and all that pertains to us.
Lord, as I have engaged in spiritual warfare, I now stand in the authority You have given me to forbid any form of retaliation, backlash, or revenge from the kingdom of darkness, in all realms, dimensions, time, and space. I bind, rebuke, and cut off every evil and unclean spirit.
I declare that every hook, root, tether, cord, device, and attachment of the enemy is permanently severed by the Blood of the Lamb. I cancel every plot, curse, and evil strategy sent to steal, kill, destroy, any part of my God ordained life. I command back cleansed in the blood and purged in the fire all parts of our being.
Father, I ask that You send Your warring angels to encamp around me and all whom I stand in the gap for. Place a wall of fire around our homes, vehicles, workplaces, relationships, and destinies so that no weapon or spirit of the enemy can steal, kill, or destroy. I ask the Holy Spirit to fill every vacancy left by the enemy in my life, and the life of those who I stand in the gap for, so that no evil spirit may return.
I seal this prayer in the blood of Christ and bring it to the Courts of Heaven to be recorded. Thank you Ancient of Days. I praise you.
